In February 2009, a delegation led by National Standard Committee, Ministry of Industry and Information, SARFT, Chinese Academy of Engineering visit to Cuba, Venezuela and Peru with the purpose of competitive situation investigation between Chinese standard and other international DTV standard in south America. The visit is also exploit the cooperation opportunities with local governments in digital television industry.

In April 2009, eight governmental departments including National Development and Reform Commission,  Ministry of Industry and Information, Ministry of Technology, SARFT, National Standard Committee, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Academy of Engineering set up a working group to promote Chinese digital television standard-DTMB at overseas market. The working group also has a mission to organize the resources from different parties for extension the application of DTMB standard at overseas market .
